Enabling UNIX Attribute on Active Directory Users and Computers [ADUC] Windows Server 2008

In this article i need to show you on how to Enabling UNIX Attribute Tab on your Active Directory Users and Computers Windows Server 2008, one of the advantage to this is you can integrated NFS Storage running on your Windows-Based System accessed from you Unix-Based or Linux Based System. Below Step-by-Step on How to Enable UNIX Attribute in ADUC Windows Server 2008 :
  1. Open Server Manager. To open Server Manager, click Start , point to Administrative Tools , and then click Server Manager
  2. In the tree pane, expand Roles
  3. On the role home page for AD DS, in the Roles section, in the list of common tasks, click Add Role Services
  4. On the Select Role Services page of the Add Role Services Wizard, Select "Server for NIS Tools", confirm and then click install
  5. Please Note that Enabling this feature need computer must be restarted after the installation of Identity Management for UNIX finishes
  6. After your Active Directory Server Up, open an ADUC console and point to "View" and Enable "Advanced Feature"
  7. Point to your sample account then check a property, you should find UNIX Attribute Tab now
